Nate Townsend, Co-Writer and Director

After graduating from Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television in 2014, Nate began a career as a writer and director in Los Angeles. During this time, he directed several award-winning short films that screened in festivals around the world including Newport Beach Film Festival, Burbank International Film Festival, and Santa Monica International Film Festival. In 2016 he began directing in house for DDB, a full-service advertising agency.  He has worked on an array of brands, including AT&T, Spectrum Brands, The Hartford Insurance, and Scottrade.  Among his accolades are a gold national ADDY award, a Cannes Lion Shortlist, and a Mid-American Emmy. He now lives in Los Angeles, where he works as a freelance director.

chris jones, Co-Writer and editor

Chris Jones is a writer and editor concerned with themes of environmental and social injustice. His short-documentaries "Trash, Manufactured" and "JUNK" have raised global awareness about the impacts of plastic-pollution in our oceans. Since completing a post-production internship on Ken Burns’ "Country Music," Chris has served as assistant-editor to Academy Award-winning documentarian Freida Lee Mock on her features “Ruth” and “The Choir and Conductor,” and Suzanne Joe Kai’s forthcoming feature “Like a Rolling Stone: The Life and Times of Ben Fong-Torres.”  He is currently in the research and development phase for a feature-length documentary about the Americans With Disabilities Act. “Wake Up” is his first feature.

PAXEROS CREATIVE, PRODUCTION COMPANY

Chelsea Bo and Sean Drummond, Producers

Paxeros Creative is an award-winning video production company based out of Los Angeles, California. The company was co-founded by Chelsea Bo and Sean Drummond in 2014 to create authentic and meaningful content, thus the name Paxeros: Pax (Peace) + Eros (Love). This project perfectly aligns with their ethos to impact, influence and connect with audiences in a positive way. Over the years they have produced everything from national broadcast commercials to travel documentary series. Chelsea and Sean will be co-producing the Project Wake Up documentary. Using their industry connections and resources they will help Nate bring his cinematic vision to life in a commercially viable way so that this film can reach and impact the most people.

KYLE KRUPINSKI, Director of photography

Kyle is an award winning Director of Photography from St Louis Missouri who currently lives in Los Angeles. He has a passion for telling a wide variety of stories through visuals, using light and framing to create compelling images. His work has been screened at film festivals and events around the world including the BFI Film Fest, Newport Beach Film Fest, Berlin Fashion Film Fest and the Burbank International Film Fest. His work with Nate Townsend has recently won him a gold cinematography award at the local ADDYs, the campaign went on to win a gold national ADDY. His recent documentary work includes working as a camera operator on Netflix's "Fastest Car", Go 90's "Why We Fight" and as a DP, Kyle has been shooting a trilogy of short docs for Jubilee about personal stories of individuals writing intimate letters to the person/thing that they need to hear their words called "Dear [Fill in the Blank]". Kyle is looking forward to helping bring the important stories behind Project Wake Up to the screen.

ROBERTO MURGUIA, composer

Roberto is a composer for film, TV and advertising based in Los Angeles for over 5 years, graduate of Berklee College of Music with a Masters in Music Technology from York, UK. His music has been an important component in acclaimed short films and documentaries, among them the Oscar-shortlisted “Crescendo” and the soon to be released Mexican documentary “La Otra Parte”.  His work in advertising has been extensive with over 40 different brands, recently providing the music for entire campaigns like Target Holidays 2017 and the upcoming Uber “Moving Forward”. WCFF “Dream”, a viral spot for which he arranged, performed and produced an adaptation of Les Miserables “I dreamed a dreamed,” won the 2017 Cannes Gold Lion for Best use of adapted music.
